Intérêt de l'analyse de la sémiologie et de la vitesse de la marche du sujet âgé dans l'évaluation du risque de chute à l'aide d'un parcours de marche comportant une double tâche

Falls in the elderly is a significant challenge for both rehabilitation and prevention. The aim of this paper was to investigate wich variables of the walk's semiology could predict fall and the effect of speed with and without a double task condition. We analysed the walking in a straight line over a distance of 10 meters, of 78 elderly subjects (means age 79,32+/-5,46) who had been referred to the geriatric outpatient unit. We defined in this study the risk of fall with INPES's parameters: more than one fall during the six months ago, Tinetti scale, one leg balance. The results from this study provide informations about identifiable markers to detect patients who may be at risk for falls.
