Ankle instability: What do we know and what is the future?

More than 80 different surgical procedures have been described, classified as either anatomic repair or nonanatomic reconstructions. Anatomical repairs are simple, less time, equipment, and cost consuming, and offer at least comparable results.

Bildgebende Verfahren sind notwendig, um Begleitverletzungen zu erkennen. Die frische Kapselbandverletzung wird zunächst funktionell mit einer äußeren Stabilisierungshilfe behandelt. In 10–20% entsteht im Verlauf jedoch eine chronische Sprunggelenkinstabilität. Dann muss eine operative Intervention erwogen werden. Etwa 80 verschiedene, anatomische oder nicht anatomische Operationsmethoden sind bisher beschrieben worden. Im Vergleich sind die anatomischen Versorgungen einfacher, schneller durchführbar und weniger kostenintensiv. Sie führen zu zumindest vergleichbar guten Ergebnissen.
