Un couteau fiché dans la région temporale gauche

A 65-year-old woman was attacked and was stabbed into the left temporal region. Glasgow Coma Scale was 15 at first. Removing of knife was carried out in neuroradiologic room after intravascular therapy in the order to prevent haemorrhage. Then an intracranial haematoma was evacuated surgically. Despite this penetrating head injury, sequela of the patient was only a left ophtalmoplegia with left ptosis. From this observation, we argument about special nature of these trauma, problem during prehospital treatment and interest of refer to a center of vascular neurosurgery.
