Two isoforms of anti-lipopolysaccharide factors identified and characterized from the hemocytes of portunid crabs, Portunus pelagicus and Scylla tranquebarica

► Study reports two ALF isoforms from P. pelagicus and S. tranquebarica. ► StALF is the first report of an ALF from S. tranquebarica. ► The mature peptide had a predicted MW of 11.2 kDa and theoretical pI of 10.0. ► Mature peptide possess highly conserved cysteine residues and LPS binding domain. ► Phylogenetic analysis showed similar evolutionary status for PpALF2 and StALF.
