Correlation of coronary artery disease angiographic severity with intima-media thickness of carotid artery

There is a strong correlation between carotid atherosclerosis and coronary atherosclerosis, and carotid IMT is a good predictor of presence and extent of CAD, hence it can be used as a marker in the prediction of pre-clinical atherosclerosis and CAD.
