Cardiopatías congénitas por resonancia magnética y tomografía computarizada con multidetector

This review concerns the application of cardiac magnetic resonance (CMR) and multidetector computed tomography (MDCT) to the noninvasive diagnosis and follow-up of patients with congenital heart disease. Particular emphasis is given to the most common indications for imaging studies: intracardiac communications, the anatomical and functional analysis of aortic coarctation, and postoperative follow-up of the tetralogy of Fallot and other complex forms of congenital heart disease. Since cardiac MDCT is increasingly used to investigate these patients, the review also discusses the wide range of indications for MDCT and the discoveries that have been made using the technique in adults with congenital heart disease.
