Experimentación accidental de semilla de cajú (Anacardium occidentale L.)

ResumenEste artículo describe los signos y síntomas producidos accidentalmente por contacto con el jugo de semilla de cajú (Anacardium occidentale L.) en un individuo saludable de sexo femenino. La sintomatología provocada fue rigurosamente registrada por anamnesis y fotografías, para poderse utilizar mediante aplicación del principio de semejanza terapéutica. La investigación de la literatura especializada mostró que, aunque la castaña de cajú es universalmente apreciada y consumida, la materia médica del medicamento homeopático correspondiente es extremadamente limitada y frecuentemente confundida con Anacardium orientale, preparado a partir de Semecarpus anacardium L. y, por lo tanto, perteneciente a un género diferente de la familia Anacardiaceae.

This article describes the signs and symptoms accidentally induced by contact with juice of cashew nut (Anacardium occidentale L.) in a healthy female individual. Signs and symptoms were carefully recorded by means of interview and photographs to be applied according to the therapeutic similarity principle. Survey of the specialized literature showed that although cashew nuts are appreciated and consumed worldwide, the materia medica of its corresponding homeopathic medicine is virtually inexistent and frequently confounded with Anacardium orientale, prepared from Semecarpus anacardium L. and thus pertaining to a different genus of family Anacardiaceae.
