The occurrence of heel pain after the administration of Pulsatilla in several patients motivated the search for this symptom in the main materia medica to confirm its existence. It was observed that this talalgia, already well described by Hahnemann after self-experimentation, has undergone fluctuations over time and, according to the authors, has often been forgotten altogether. The cases of talalgia presented confirm that the production of pathogenic symptoms is not the privilege of healthy and sensitive experimenters, but that they can also be present in sick subjects, sensitised by their disease. Hahnemann recognised this by integrating in the homeopathic materia medica the symptoms provoked in patients by medicines. As they observe the signs - that is to say changes - occurring after a medicine has been prescribed, the practitioners are in the best position to undertake clinical research to improve their practice and confirm, reactivate and enhance the materia medica.
