L'enseignement de l'homéopathie en médecine générale : une nécessité ? État des lieux

While no teaching is devoted to homeopathy during initial medical training, homeopathic remedies are extensively used. A descriptive study of the practices, knowledge, opinions and training of general practitioners and interns in the Nord-Pas-de-Calais region has been carried out. It shows that 75 % of doctors prescribe homeopathic remedies at least once a month while 28 % acknowledge having had minimal training and only 30 % claim to have good knowledge of homeopathy. Perceived as a possible alternative or complementary therapy, homeopathy is described as “useful” by 52 % of the doctors and 62 % of the interns questioned. Greater knowledge would enable practitioners to better orient patients in the framework of integrative medicine.
