Tumeur myofibroblastique de la racine du mésentère : les anti-inflammatoires pour achever une résection R2

Inflammatory myofibroblastic tumors are visceral and soft tissue tumors with poorly understood etiopathology. They can infiltrate adjacent organs, recur after surgical resection or having rarely distant metastasis. A fundamental question about pathology is whether they are inflammatory or neoplastic lesions, benign or malignant. The diagnosis is almost always based on histopathological findings. It was traditionally managed with extensive surgical resection. This approach may be difficult for lesions developed on vital structures. We report the case of a 59-year-old man who was treated in our institution for mesenteric myofibroblastic tumor. Complete resection was not possible because of local infiltration. Recurrence was noted 3 months after surgery and successfully treated with steroidal and nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs.
