In the presented work, migraine auras and afterimages, which are subjective illusions are described. They are analyzed as the phenomena that refer to the same category of cognitive processes, though their origins are different. They are collated and interpreted in perspective of cerebral hemispheres’ cooperation. It is considered here that the migraine aura is an effect of activation of one hemisphere with simultaneous blockade of this activation's transition to the second hemisphere, whereas the afterimage is interpreted as phenomenon that results from equilibration of cerebral hemispheres and their cooperation. The carried out analysis of discussed phenomena points out that they should be used in studies on brain's functioning, as they are its unique manifestation.
