Resolution of hyperlipidemia follows surgical weight loss in patients undergoing Roux-en-Y gastric bypass surgery: a 6-year analysis of data

Roux-en-Y gastric bypass provides an effective remission of hyperlipidemia in morbidly obese patients, with most patients no longer requiring lipid-lowering agents within 6 months after surgery. The improvement in overall lipid profiles continued during follow-up after surgery.
