L’asthme dans l’avion

RésuméLes avions civils transportent tous les ans plus d’un milliard de passagers dans le monde. La pathologie asthmatique est fréquente et peut s’exprimer chez les usagers et les professionnels de l’aéronautique. Les conditions de pression, de ventilation et d’hygrométrie peuvent poser des problématiques spécifiques aux asthmatiques. L’exposition à l’ozone, à d’autres substances toxiques et au stress des transports peut déclencher des symptômes d’asthme. La connaissance de ces éléments nous permet d’anticiper les problèmes et d’apporter des réponses adaptées aux patients.

Civilian aircraft transport more than one billion passengers throughout the world each year. Asthmatic attacks are frequent and occur in both passengers and airline professionals. During airline flights, pressure conditions, the air conditioning system and hygrometry can cause specific problems for asthmatics. Exposure to ozone, to other toxic substances and the stress of flying can contribute to asthma attacks. Knowledge of these elements allows us to anticipate these problems and to have appropriate answers for the patients.
