Pourquoi et comment explorer la fonction érectile chez un patient à risque cardiovasculaire ?

RésuméLa dysfonction érectile (DE) est un trouble fréquent, qui peut être souvent le premier symptôme d’une pathologie en cours telle qu’une affection cardiovasculaire, capable d’engager le pronostic vital ultérieur. Il est nécessaire d’encourager les patients à parler de ce problème, qu’il faudra ensuite explorer. L’existence d’une DE doit faire rechercher une pathologie cardiovasculaire, mais également des troubles de la miction, un déficit androgénique, des troubles de l’humeur et/ou relationnels ainsi qu’une étiologie iatrogène médicamenteuse. La découverte d’une DE représente donc une excellente opportunité pour effectuer un bilan de santé plus global, s’inscrivant dans une démarche de prise en charge et de prévention.
