La ecografía supone para el médico de Atención Primaria un nuevo ojo diagnóstico, el llamado “ojo ecográfico”, que permite ver por dentro y sin dañar la estructura a estudiar, a la vez que nos facilita una aproximación diagnóstica y terapéutica, y una derivación más precoz y dirigida al especialista más adecuado según la patología diagnosticada. La articulación del hombro es probablemente la más accesible al estudio ecográfico en el adulto, y por esta razón nos parece la articulación más adecuada para iniciar nuestra instrucción ecográfica. Vamos a comenzar este curso describiendo los 14 cortes ecográficos que nos permiten dominar la técnica ecográfica del hombro.

The Ultrasonography provides the Primary Care physician with a new diagnostic eye, the so-called ultrasonographic eye, that makes it possible to see inside without harming the structure to be studied. At the same time, it provides us with a diagnostic and therapeutic approach and an earlier referral to the most adequate specialist according to the disease diagnosed. The shoulder joint is probably the most accessible to the ultrasonographic study in the adult. Thus, we consider it the most adequate joint to begin our ultrasonographic instruction. We will begin this course by describing the 14 ultrasonographic cuts that allow us to dominate the shoulder ultrasonographic technique.
