RETRACTED: Pigment epithelium-derived factor inhibits erythropoietin-induced retinal endothelial cell angiogenesis by suppression of PI3K/Akt pathway

Panels in Figure 2 are noted as representative photomicrographs of cell dishes at 0 hr and 24 hr following scratching in the presence of EOO, PEDF or both. However, these panels do not represent independent data, but instead contain repetitive cell patterns suggestive of digital manipulation of these images.As such this article represents a severe abuse of the scientific publishing system. The scientific community and the Editors take a very strong view on this matter, and apologies are offered to readers of the journal that this problem was not detected during the submission and review process.
