Arthroscopic Treatments of Residual Pediatric Deformities

Advancements in hip arthroscopy and the recognition of the importance of early intervention in pediatric hip disorders have brought physicians a new surgical option for patients with residual hip deformity from pediatric diseases. Developmental dysplasia of the hip is the most common residual osseous morphology although there is a limited role of using hip arthroscopy. Slipped capital femoral epiphysis and Legg-Calve-Perthes lead to osseous morphologies that may be more amenable to arthroscopic intervention, although care must be taken to choose the appropriate patient.
