Arthroscopic Management of Femoroacetabular Impingement

Femoroacetabular impingement is a well-recognized cause of intra-articular pathology and secondary osteoarthritis among young adults. Arthroscopic confirmation of the pathology associated with impingement morphology is an important part of the treatment algorithm. Pincer and cam lesions can be corrected in conjunction with reparative techniques. For many cases, arthroscopy offers a much less invasive method of treatment compared with traditional open techniques. Successful results can often be expected with minimal morbidity.
