Thrombose du sinus caverneux compliquant une ethmoïdite aiguë

RésuméL’ethmoïdite aiguë est l’infection des cellules ethmoïdales. Elle est rare. Le signe d’appel est souvent un œdème de l’angle interne de l’œil. L’imagerie peut être nécessaire pour vérifier l’absence de complications orbitaires ou endocrâniennes. La thrombophlébite des sinus caverneux est une complication grave de ce processus infectieux. Nous rapportons le cas d’un garçon âgé de 11 ans ayant présenté une ethmoïdite aiguë compliquée d’une thrombophlébite du sinus caverneux et qui avait laissé comme séquelle une hémiplégie droite et une paralysie faciale gauche. Un diagnostic précoce de cette affection et sa prise en charge thérapeutique rapide sont essentiels. Le traitement repose sur l’antibiothérapie.

Early diagnosis of this disorder and urgent therapy are essential. Treatment is based on the antibiotic therapy.
