Infection à Salmonella enterica sérotype typhimurium révélée par une masse rétrocaecale chez une enfant âgée de 8 ans

RésuméLes salmonelloses non typhiques sont liées à des bacilles Gram négatif habituellement responsables d’entérocolites dont l’évolution peut être émaillée de complications. Nous rapportons une forme inhabituelle d’infection à Salmonella enterica sérotype typhimurium chez une enfant de 8 ans, qui présentait un tableau abdominal aigu. Nous discutons les présentations cliniques inhabituelles des salmonelloses chez l’enfant et la place de l’imagerie et de l’anatomopathologie.

SummaryMinor salmonellosis is due to Gram-negative bacilli, which usually cause enterocolitis with potentially severe complications. We report on a case of a clinically uncommon presentation of Salmonella enterica serovar typhimurium infection in an 8-year-old child who presented with acute abdominal pain. We discuss clinically uncommon presentations of salmonella disease in children, as well as its pathology and radiology.
