Pathologie lacrymale du nourrisson et de l’enfant

RésuméLes pathologies lacrymales dominées par l’épiphora (larmoiement) sont un motif très fréquent de consultation. Le pédiatre doit bien savoir reconnaître la dacryocystocèle congénitale et l’imperméabilité lacrymonasale simple par imperforation de la valve de Hasner qui représente la principale cause d’épiphora du nourrisson. Celle-ci est traitée par sondage réalisé par l’ophtalmopédiatre à partir du troisième mois et par sondage avec intubation siliconée en cas d’échec, d’impossibilité de contention ou chez les enfants de plus d’un an.

Tearing and lacrimal pathologies are very frequent motives of consultation. The pediatrician must know the congenital dacryocele, and nasolacrimal duct obstruction by the Hasner valve imperforation, which represents the main reason of tearing of the infant. Nasolacrimal duct obstruction is treated by probing by the ophthalmologist from the third month and by probing with silicone intubation in case of failure, or in the children of more than one year old.
