Cystatin C as a Marker of Renal Function in Kidney Transplant Patients

sCyC is an endogenous marker of GFR. Its limitations relate to its being affected by the high doses of steroids in the first days following transplantation. In the 18-month posttransplant period, it correlated with creatinine clearance in a 24-hour urine or calculated by the Cockroft-Gault formula.
