EFS stimulated adrenergic, cholinergic, and NANC neuro‐effector systems simultaneously. Phase I was related to the NO pathway. Phase II was multiply affected by self‐recovery properties, and adrenergic and cholinergic nerves. Phase III was related to cholinergic nerves.
