RésuméL’infection urinaire chez l’insuffisant rénal est fréquente et particulière dans sa prise en charge diagnostique et thérapeutique. Il faut donc être rigoureux pour établir son diagnostic précis. Les prélèvements bactériologiques sont précieux et indispensables. Y sont associés les recueils des données anamnestiques et cliniques permettant d’affirmer l’infection urinaire et de préciser son tableau clinique. L’urologue est souvent amené à traiter par antibiotiques des insuffisants rénaux. Avant de débuter une antibiothérapie, il faut s’astreindre à caractériser l’insuffisance rénale : sa réalité, son stade et son caractère aigu ou chronique. Cela doit permettre de choisir une antibiothérapie adaptée à chaque situation clinique et d’éviter des incidents iatrogènes.

Urologists often have to take care of antibiotic treatment for patients with renal insufficiency. A bacteriological diagnosis should be performed. Which must be associated with anamnestic and clinical data to suggest urinary tract infection and to clarify clinical picture. Before starting antibiotherapy one should characterize the stage of renal failure: distinguish between acute or chronic renal failure. This should allow to prescribe appropriate antibiotics for different clinical situations and to avoid iatrogenic complications.
