Mycophenolate Mofetil Impairs the Integrity of Colonic Anastomosis

MMF weakens the integrity of colonic anastomosis, and this effect is more significant during the inflammatory phase of healing. MMF has a negative effect on macrophages and TGF-β1 expression, resulting in decreased collagen accumulation at the anastomosis.
