Potential role of fibronectin in microglia/macrophage activation following cryoinjury in the rat brain: An immunohistochemical study

► Fibronectin is significantly increased in the brain after cryoinjury in rats. ► Increased fibronectin is associated with glial activation in the lesion core and periphery. ► Fibronectin expression is colocalized with the expression of arginase-1 in activated microglia/macrophages. ► Fibronectin may act via arginase-1 in microglia/macrophage activation to modulate CNS inflammation.
