Gastric acid secretion induced by paraventricular nucleus microinjection of orexin A is mediated through activation of neuropeptide Yergic system

► ICV microinjections of Y1 and Y5 antagonists decreased gastric acid secretion. ► Stimulatory effect of PVN orexin on acid secretion is inhibited by Y1 and Y5 receptors antagonists. ► The stimulatory effect of PVN orexin on acid secretion may be induced by Y1 and Y5 receptors.
