Upregulation of high-affinity GABAA receptors in cultured rat dorsal root ganglion neurons

▶GABAA currents in DRG neurons change with time in culture. ▶High-affinity “extrasynaptic” GABAA currents are increased. ▶δ-subunit-containing receptors already present are trafficked to the membrane. ▶An increase in ρ-subunit expression and functional receptors is also detected.
