Autophagy-related proteins (p62, NBR1 and LC3) in intranuclear inclusions in neurodegenerative diseases

► Intranuclear inclusions (INIs) are recognized as a hallmark of certain neurodegenerative diseases. ► We determined whether autophagy-specific proteins (NBR1 and LC3) are involved in INI formation. ► A significant proportion of INIs were positive for NBR1 and negative for LC3. ► NBR1 may have other functions than autophagy.
