Comparison of umbo velocity in air- and bone-conduction

► AC- and BC-induced umbo velocity was compared in live human ears. ► We calculated the difference between umbo and tympanic ring velocity for BC. ► This difference was smaller than umbo velocity for AC from 500 to 2000 Hz. ► Ear canal pressure at BC threshold was smaller than at AC threshold below 3000 Hz.
