Classification of unit types in the anteroventral cochlear nucleus of laboratory mice

► Single-unit responses were recorded from the anteroventral cochlear nucleus. ► Results from two strains of laboratory mice were compared. ► Responses were classified in terms of peri-stimulus time histograms. ► The analysis replicated previous descriptions in other mammalian species. ► Synaptic coupling was not as secure as in other species.
