Anti-epileptic drugs delay age-related loss of spiral ganglion neurons via T-type calcium channel

► Presbycusis is diminished in mice lacking Cav3.3 T-type calcium channels. ► This delay of presbycusis is accompanied by preservation of spiral ganglion neurons. ► Anti-epileptic drugs blocking T-type calcium channels can also delay presbycusis.
