Efficacy of Bagassa guianensis Aubl. extract against wood decay and human pathogenic fungi

► Ethyl acetate-soluble extractives protect Bagassa guianensis wood against fungi. ► Fractions were active against wood-degrading fungi and human pathogens. ► The composition of the most active fraction in the extract was determined. ► Among six isolated compounds, two moracins 3 and 4 were the most active. ► Synergistic mechanisms exist between moderately active polyphenols and biocides.
