Relationship between wood-inhabiting fungi and Reticulitermes spp. in four forest habitats of northeastern Mississippi

► Wood associated fungi were isolated and identified from coarse woody debris in four forest types from pine and oak. ► Samples yielded 860 unique fungal isolates, with 59% identified to genus level. ► Four phyla, six classes, 10 orders, 14 families, and 50 genera were recovered. ► This study found no positive statistical correlations between the presence of termites and any given group of fungi.
