Co-metabolic degradation of pyrene by indigenous white-rot fungus Pseudotrametes gibbosa from the northeast China

► Pseudotrametes gibbosa is able to utilize pyrene as a sole carbon and energy source. ► Pyrene biodegradation can be enhanced due to cometabolism by appropriate cosubstrates. ► The biodegradation of pyrene fitted well a zero-order kinetics model.
