Influence of light on growth, fumonisin biosynthesis and FUM1 gene expression by Fusarium proliferatum

► The influence of light on fumonisin biosynthesis by F. proliferatum was analyzed. ► Light had a positive influence on growth and on fumonisins B1 and B2 production. ► There is a correlation between fumonisin production and FUM1 gene expression. ► These findings show a role of light on the regulation of fumonisin biosynthesis.
