A Rapid Automatic Image Registration Method Based on Improved SIFT

This paper presents an image registration method based on the improved SIFT feature extraction algorithm, which takes local statistical features and corner feature into account. With this improved algorithm, an automatic registration of narrow- baseline images can be achieved which can greatly improve the speed and accuracy of the registration.
