Assessment of the bacteriological quality and nitrate pollution risk of Quaternary groundwater in the southern part of Abidjan District (Côte d'Ivoire)

► We monitor the rate of total coliforms, thermotolerant coliforms, Escherichia coli and nitrates in groundwater. ► We also analyze the groundwater nitrate pollution risk. ► 94% of the study area present traces of bacteriological contamination. ► The urbanized west side of the area presents a high probability of groundwater nitrate pollution risk. ► Urgent actions are required for population.
