Nanotube-reinforced tannin/furanic rigid foams

► Tannin foams compressive and impact strength are improved by addition of small percentages of multiwall carbon nanotubes. ► The low proportion of nanotubes that can be added limit improvements, the limit being unhandable increases in viscosity. ► High magnification scanning electron microscopy showed the imbedded nanotubes distribution in the foam cell walls.
