Surface treatments of jute fabric: The influence of surface characteristics on jute fabrics and mechanical properties of jute/polyester composites

► Fluorocarbon and micro-emulsion silicone finishes were applied to jute fabrics. ► All surface treatments were shown to improve the mechanical peculiarities of composites. ► The maximum improvement of mechanical properties was observed in the case of fluorocarbon finish.
