► Red flour beetle response to pheromone baited traps strongest with airflow. ► Pheromone with or without kairomone provided the strongest attractant. ► Even under best conditions average number of beetles encountering trap was low. ► With airflow trap attractive space extended out to 90 cm. ► Without airflow trap attractive space was essentially 0 cm.
