Diagnosis of Liposcelis entomophila (Insecta: Psocodea: Liposcelididae) based on morphological characteristics and DNA barcodes

► Morphological and molecular identification of six geographical strains of Liposcelis entomophila was compared. ► Morphological method used decisive diagnostic characters based on head size and SEM micrographs. ► Molecular method determined the mtDNA COI sequence's similarities. ► Both morphological and molecular approaches accurately identified L. entomophila species regardless of geographical origin.
