An empirical model to predict the distribution of iron micro-particles around an injection well in a sandy aquifer

► The variable flow conditions around an injection well are studied via column tests. ► Iron micro-particles dispersed in weak gels of guar gum are injected. ► With increasing distances from the well particle deposition rate increases. ► No clogging occurs even in the region near the well. ► The empirical model predicts micro-iron distribution at large distances (2 m).
