Daily sea level forecast at tide gauge Burgas, Bulgaria using artificial neural networks

► The daily sea level for the Black Sea is predicted with artificial networks (ANN). ► Five ANN architectures and conventional methods are compared for sea level forecast. ► The ANNs capable to provide accurate predictions with an absolute error of 0.06 m. ► Results demonstrated the effectiveness of ANNs for tide gauge data analysis. ► ANN may be considered as an alternative method to the classical harmonic analysis.
