Pre- and post-production characteristics of Coprosma as influenced by temperature, irradiance, and nutrient treatments

► Leaf drop of Coprosma affected by nutrition and irradiance was studied. ► Content of soluble carbohydrates and mineral were analyzed for keeping quality. ► Decrease in ethanol soluble fructose is associated with leaf drops. ► Tissue nitrogen (N) content of leaves higher than 4% prevented leaf drop. ► This is the first report that leaf drop is suppressed with increased leaf N content.
