Molecular diversity and genetic relationship of pomegranate (Punica granatum L.) genotypes using microsatellite markers

► Genetic diversity and relationships among 75 pomegranate genotypes from Iran, Japan, Turkmenistan, Russia, Italy and USA were assessed. ► AMOVA results showed the significant variation among regions. ► Iranian pomegranate genotypes revealed the highest genetic diversity. ► The results showed the existence of the common ancestors among the genotypes.
