Development of novel chloroplast microsatellite markers for Dendrobium officinale, and cross-amplification in other Dendrobium species (Orchidaceae)

► Nine polymorphic cpSSR primers were developed for Dendrobium officinale. ► Results showed that 9 cpSSR primers may be applicable to other Dendrobium species. ► These cpSSR primers will be useful in serving evolutionary and conservation purposes.
