Closed polynomials in polynomial rings over integral domains

Let f   be a non-constant polynomial in the polynomial ring R[n]R[n] in n variables over an integral domain R   such that Q(R)[f]∩R[n]=R[f]Q(R)[f]∩R[n]=R[f]. We give necessary and sufficient conditions for f   to be closed in R[n]R[n].
