A characterization of hypercacti

In [M. Sonntag, Antimagic vertex labelings of hypergraphs, Discrete Math. 247 (2002) 187–199] the graph theoretic notion of a cactus is generalized to hypergraphs. We present some elementary properties and give a characterization of hypercacti.
