Development of an automatic blowing-snow station

► Simpler device, automatic blowing-snow station (ABS), has been developed. ► The ABS works with a small wind turbine and a cold-proof battery measures the attenuation of light. ► Tests at cold wind-tunnel and field conditions revealed the ABS is suitable for practical use. ► The ABS has a potential to measure blowing snow flux automatically, throughout the winter in Antarctica.
